Sister hotel to the wonderful Galley Bay in Antigua, Palm Island offers exactly the right blend of barefoot elegance and 'get away from it all' desert island escapism.
Location
Accessed by air from Barbados to Union Island followed by a 10 minute boat ride to the resort.
Accommodation
There are a total of 37 guest rooms scattered across the island.
Palm View Rooms are set well back from the beach and have air-conditioning, bathroom with a tub and separate shower, mini fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, terrace and a garden view.
The Beachfront Rooms enjoy the same facilities (but with a shower only) and are located directly overlooking the beach with wonderful ocean views – some are literally steps from the water’s edge.
The spacious Plantation Suites have garden views and are well-suited to families or three adults travelling together.
The newer Island Loft rooms are especially light and airy with vaulted ceilings.
Facilities
2 restaurants and bars featuring a wide variety of outstanding local and international cuisine; a local dish is always included in the menu which features superb local fish as well.
There is a tennis court, non-motorised watersports, fitness room, complimentary bicycles, in-room massage (extra charge) and nature trails.
Scuba-diving can be arranged from nearby Union Island (with daily boat pick-ups).
The beaches – there are five to choose from – are of shelving white sand and there is some excellent snorkelling just off-shore.
